Join us for a morning of Sporting Clays and Lunch at Orvis Sandanona in Millbrook, NY. The leaves along the course should be in peak colors and temperatures should be just right as well, not too warm and not too cool. Sporting Clays has been described as “Golf with a Shotgun” because participants travel from station to station where they take turns shooting clays with multiple presentations. The clays are basically clay frisbees that shatter (or even pulverize) in an incredibly satisfying manner.
BRAND NEW SHOOTERS must have instruction before heading out on the course. Please see our additional event posting to register for instruction.
Sandanona is about 90 minutes north of Manhattan up the Taconic Parkway. We will meet at a very civilized 9:30am for coffee, a safety briefing, collection of shotgun shells and general pre-shoot milling about before heading out to the course at 10:00am with our carts and trappers (ther person who launches the clays).
Although our program will end at the conclusion of Sporting Clays and instruction, we will have a table reserved for lunch in the restaurant. Lunch is not included in the event cost so that each of us can order off the menu. Please note that “brown bag lunches” are not permitted in the restaurant.
Post lunch, some will remain and enjoy the gorgeous grounds or take a short drive and stroll along the main drag in Millbrook. More experienced clay shooters may enjoy a second round of clays or head out to the fields to try to shoot a few partridge or pheasant.
We guarantee laughter and smiles as well as the usual camaraderie attendant with a JASC event.
Cost: $155 per participant covering shotgun rental, 100 shotgun shells, golf cart rental, trapper and tips. Note: Lunch is not included although a table will be reserved for us to eat together.
