Headhunting for Brown Trout on the Farmington

Note: This trip is currently open to 4 anglers and is SOLD OUT. If are still interested, please reach out to Laura Grose who may be able to secure additional guides.

With cooling river temps, active bugs, and peak spawning right around the corner, October proves to be one of the best times to target big brown trout. We are heading up to the Farmington River in Connecticut for a full day wade-trip with some of our favorite guides, whose knowledge of this river is second to none. This trip will combine skills and stealth in pursuit of sizeable browns.

Groups of two anglers will be paired up with one guide, and will e provided with personal instruction, flies, leaders, tippet and rode set-ups. We will hit the river in the morning and fish until noon. Anglers will pack their own brown-bag lunch. We will have a cooler with water, soft drinks and snacks. After lunch we will head back out to the river to fish through the afternoon.

This trip will be a great opportunity to land a picturesque, buttery brown trout. Many of our anglers have landed their PB (personal best) on this river, and we hope history repeats itself on Saturday, October 19th!

Required:
Connecticut fresh-water fishing license with a trout stamp, waders w/ belt, wading boots, wading staff, polarized sunglasses, a hat and bug spray. Anglers are welcome to bring their own 5- or 6-weight fly rod and matching reel and/or nymphing rig, fly line, leader & tippet, but our guides will also provide all necessary rod/reel set-ups, fliees, leaders and tippet.

Cost: $380 - includes one full day guided wade trip and guide gratuities.
