Day Trip on the Housatonic

Note: This trip is currently limited to 4 anglers. If the trip is full and you are interested in joining, please reach out to Laura Grose who may be able to secure additional guides.

The Housatonic River - It’s just like the Farmington except closer to home! And okay, maybe a little bit smaller, but you get the idea. The Julianas are heading to the Housy (as locals call it) in mid-November to target male Brown Trout at the end of the Fall spawn. We will once again join some of our favorite guides (photo includes the guide’s extraordinary sons who “co-guided” for us one day) from Connecticut for a full day wade trip.

Groups of two anglers will be paired up with one guide and will be provided with personal instruction, flies, leaders, tippet and rod set-ups. We will hit the river in the morning and fish until noon for a quick lunch stop. Anglers will pack their own brown-bag lunch. We will have a cooler with water, soft drinks and snacks. After lunch we will head back out to the river to fish through the afternoon.

Don’t let cooling temps stop you from getting your fish on! Fall is one of the best times to hit the river and we hope to see you on Saturday, November 23rd!!

Required: Connecticut fresh-water fishing license with a trout stamp, waders w/ wading belt, wading boots, wading staff, polarized sunglasses, a hat and bug spray. Anglers are welcome to bring their own 5- or 6-weight fly rod and matching reel and/or nymphing rig, fly line, leader & tippet. However, the guides will also provide all necessary rod/reel set-ups, flies, leaders and tippet.

Cost: $380 - includes one full day guided wade trip and guide gratuities.
