About Us

Juliana's Anglers is a women's fly fishing club based in New York City. The purpose of our club is to encourage all women interested in fly fishing to enjoy the sport with other women by making fishing accessible through education, conservation, planned activities, and events.

Juliana's welcomes women at all levels of the sport, from the curious who have never held a rod, to avid fishers who spend as much time on the water as on land. Learn More .....

Introduction to Spey Casting

Sunday, May 20th
10am - 12pm

Juliana's Anglers members are invited to participate in a Spey casting demonstration and class with Andrew Moy, owner of Tight Lines Fly Shop in Pine Brook, NJ. Spey casting is a two-handed technique used with longer rods, and designed for long distance casts with little to no backcast.

Rods and reels will be provided, but you will need your own waders, boots and sunglasses or other eye protection. A wading staff is also recommended.

Orvis Sandanona

Join us as the Juliana’s branch out into a new adventure! We've all seen the stock photos of hunters out in the field with hunting dogs on the off-season, but have you ever wondered where they go to learn to shoot and practice? They learn by shooting sporting clays at Orvis Sandanona in Millbrook, NY Orvis' premier shooting location.

We will start our day fishing in the Westchester/Croton Watershed area – we will pick the river depending on where the fishing is best. Around noon, we will pack up our rods and waders and drive to Orvis Sandanona for a catered lunch in their dining room.

After lunch we'll be fitted and equipped with high quality over/under shotguns followed by a private lesson from an Orvis endorsed shotgun instructor. After the lesson, we'll test out our new skills on the Sporting Clays course.
